The construction of a Low-Income Home requires more than the idea of building a structure that can be affordable, this must take into account many factors, among which have to considered to whom is built it and realize that if each dwelling has a lower cost than usual this should not influence on the quality of its design.

There’s a time in our life in which we have dreamed of being the owners of our own house, sometimes no matter where or how, but it is one of the most common desires while we are growing up with our parents and then be able to be independent.

However, every day it becomes more difficult to achieve this dream, because those who lack the necessary budget and want to purchase a home at least comfortable to live have limited options.

Low costs

Among the choices that may have a person of scarce resources that is looking for a house, are the Low-Income Homes. Currently this type of properties have taken rise thanks to the costs that their designs have. These constructions come to be a solution that not always are immediately but they´re near to the budget of the people.

According to data of the Nicaraguan Chamber of the Construction Industry Association (CNC) the percentages of Low-Income Homes, which have been built have a limit of 60 square meters with less than $30 thousand dollars of costs.
These houses have great advantages in addition to its price, because despite having a limited space, can fits perfectly a small family; however, the design and the materials can have certain faults in terms of quality.

For the architect Karina Montenegro, today there is a great interest in the development of Low-Income Homes. However, is neglecting the quality for quantity. Many of these residences are considered as an immediate answer to the inherent need but not a durable property, or takes advantage of the possibility of increasing the value of the same over the years. It is our duty as architects to reverse this thought and strive to design quality housing for any social status, as the architect explains.

It is important to know that the point of all this is not simply as starting to build dozens of houses with minimal costs and offer them to the people who can buy them. Also implies always thinking in terms of functionality and sustainability, which always contributes to the improvement of the environment, in addition to the capacity we have for adapt to the same.

Therefore, the price, the quality of the materials and the design used are the main characteristics that define the structure of a house and all around you, giving a strong or weak image to the place where you build.

The Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, winner of the Pritzker Architecture, says that "If something needs Low-Income Home is high standard of design".

New Projects

For this year, the Chamber of Urban Developers in aims to build 5 thousand new Low-Income Homes, which with the 25 thousand intended to be built by the government in turn, add up to a large percentage that mainly must include quality for the people and above all the possibilities of growth in terms of the space that they receive.

In Discover Real Estate we are very interesting in this type of problem and it is for this reason that during years we have focused on the development of functional and efficient projects, which are all adapted to the needs of the place and its habitants.

In the same way we provide information about the properties that people need to know it, either of a high cost or with an economic price, showing the real options that each person can acquire.

Therefore, we are always thinking about the capacity that we must take to the constant changes of our society and its new needs to mark the difference in our country in its infrastructure.
